Amid ongoing tensions in the Gulf region, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed participated in a significant phone conference with several regional leaders and US President Donald Trump to address the situation with Iran. This high-level discussion centered on diplomatic strategies aimed at de-escalating the conflict and bolstering regional security and cooperation.

The call featured prominent leaders such as Bahrain’s King Hamad, Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman, and Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir. Their dialogue underscored the collective effort to stabilize a region fraught with instability.

As the United States indicated progress in ongoing negotiations with Iran, there was a sense of cautious optimism. US officials hinted that a potential agreement could be on the horizon, signaling a possible diplomatic breakthrough in the protracted conflict.

Since the onset of hostilities on February 28, the UAE and other Gulf nations have been targeted by missile and drone assaults attributed to Iran. Although a temporary ceasefire briefly halted these attacks earlier in the year, recent incidents have reignited anxiety over the security of the region.
