Sennheiser has introduced its latest flagship closed-back headphones, the HD 480 PRO, designed specifically for studio and live audio environments. These headphones address common challenges faced in closed-back models by offering precise bass reproduction and exceptional comfort, catering to audio professionals involved in recording, tracking, or monitoring both in studios and on the go. The HD 480 PRO promises a tight, accurate bass response, resolving issues that typically plague closed-back headphones.

According to Jimmy R. Landry, Category Market Manager for the Music Industry at Sennheiser, the HD 480 PRO stands out for its superior bass accuracy compared to other closed-back options. Senior Product Manager Gunnar Dirks emphasizes the importance of comfort for professionals who wear headphones for extended periods. The HD 480 PRO’s ergonomic design ensures a comfortable fit, even for those wearing glasses, by eliminating pressure points and providing a precise fit.

The HD 480 PRO is tailored for various professional audio tasks, such as monitoring, producing, and recording, as well as mixing. Its accurate frequency response and authentic low-end make it a versatile tool for producers, mixers, and engineers. Users like producer Jim Kaufman and mix engineer Will Brierre praise the headphones for their reliability and quality, while artist and producer Young Chencs highlights the immersive sound experience they provide, free from external distractions. Singer and songwriter Nao Yoshioka appreciates the headphones’ soft ear cushions and spatial sound quality, which enhance comfort and clarity during recording sessions.

To ensure users can focus entirely on their audio content, the HD 480 PRO incorporates passive sound shielding and soft ear pads with grooves for glasses wearers, maintaining a precise seal for optimal audio reproduction. The Vibration Attenuation System minimizes unwanted vibrations and distortions, preserving signal clarity. Additionally, Sennheiser’s patented features, such as Special Axes Geometry and comfort zones for glasses, contribute to a consistent and comfortable listening experience across different users.

Offering flexibility for daily professional use, the HD 480 PRO has a detachable cable that can be worn on either side, ideal for solo recording setups. The earcups are marked in braille for accessibility, and the headphones are engineered for durability and consistent performance over time. Retailing at AED 1,549, the HD 480 PRO comes with recording earpads and a 3-metre coiled cable, along with a carrying bag. The HD 480 PRO Plus, which includes a travel case instead of a bag, is available for AED 1,749. The choice between the closed-back HD 480 PRO and the open-back HD 490 PRO depends on the user’s working environment, with the former suited for situations requiring isolation and the latter for quieter mixing environments.
