Amid growing ties and the pursuit of enhanced cooperation, South Korean President Lee Jae Myung engaged in discussions with Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, the chairman of Abu Dhabi’s Executive Affairs Authority. Their meeting in Seoul on Friday underscored the evolving partnership between South Korea and the United Arab Emirates, as both nations seek to expand collaboration across multiple sectors.
During their talks at Cheong Wa Dae, President Lee revisited the outcomes of his previous state visit to the UAE in November, where a commitment was made to forge a long-term partnership. He acknowledged the UAE’s significant role in prioritizing crude oil supplies to South Korea earlier this year, reflecting the importance of energy security in their bilateral relations.
The discussions also highlighted burgeoning cooperation in diverse fields such as defense, artificial intelligence, nuclear energy, and cultural exchanges. President Lee called for increased communication between officials in both nations to transform these collaborative efforts into actionable projects, thereby strengthening mutual trust.
On the UAE side, Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak conveyed greetings from UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, emphasizing that the relationship between the two countries has matured into a comprehensive partnership. He noted that cooperation has extended beyond traditional sectors like energy and infrastructure to include investment, space exploration, healthcare, and education.
