Dubai’s relentless pursuit of enhanced road infrastructure continues with a major Dh2 billion project aimed at improving connectivity across the emirate. This extensive undertaking, known as the Latifa bint Hamdan corridor project, spans 12 kilometers and is set to link several key routes, including Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Khail Road, and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road. Upon its anticipated completion by the end of 2028, the corridor is expected to manage traffic volumes exceeding 16,000 vehicles per hour in both directions.
As part of these expansive infrastructure efforts, significant traffic diversions have been implemented around Al Safah and City Walk in Dubai. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has introduced the detours on Al Satwa Street and Al Multaqa Street to facilitate ongoing road development work. These measures are crucial to maintaining traffic flow while construction progresses, ensuring access to the City Walk area remains relatively unhindered.
The diversions are integral to the broader Al Safa Street development project, which is designed to enhance road connectivity and alleviate congestion in the bustling district. The project forms a part of the larger strategic plan to ease traffic and improve transportation efficiency throughout the city.
The Latifa bint Hamdan corridor project is particularly ambitious, featuring seven new bridges covering a total of 2.3 kilometers and eight tunnels spanning 900 meters. This comprehensive infrastructure enhancement is poised to significantly bolster the city’s transportation network and facilitate smoother commutes for residents and visitors alike.
