On Wednesday morning, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan participated in Eid Al Adha prayers at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. Accompanied by senior leaders, officials, and numerous worshippers, Sheikh Mohamed marked the commencement of the religious festival with a significant gathering.
Following the prayers, Sheikh Mohamed took the opportunity to exchange Eid greetings with those present. During the sermon, Dr. Omar Al Darei, who chairs the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, highlighted the pivotal role of honesty in fostering trust, national unity, and social stability. He commended the UAE’s leadership for their dedication to maintaining the country’s strength through unity and a focus on national interests.
Among those joining Sheikh Mohamed were distinguished UAE leaders, including Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, and Sheikh Saif bin Zayed. In a moment of reverence, the UAE President, along with worshippers, recited Al Fatiha in memory of the UAE’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Throughout the Emirates, rulers and senior leaders united with citizens and residents for Eid prayers at major mosques. In Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed observed prayers at the Zabeel Grand Mosque, while in Sharjah, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi joined worshippers at the Sharjah Mosque. Ajman saw Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi attending prayers at the Al Zaher Palace Mosque, and Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi performed prayers at the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Fujairah.
The celebrations extended across the UAE, with Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla offering Eid prayers at the Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Mualla Mosque in Umm Al Quwain, and Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi joining worshippers at the Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Mosque in Ras Al Khaimah. These prayers officially marked the start of Eid Al Adha festivities, as thousands gathered at mosques nationwide to partake in the observance.
